Christmas Baking Frenzy- Day 4!!

Oh boy oh boy!! I think you guys are going to like today’s goodie!! It was a new one for us, and after testing the recipe out for you guys I have some suggestions to make it even better! Are you ready???

Nutella Fudge with Pistachios! Oh man, I told you it was a good one! The first of 2 fudge recipes that will be featured on the 13 days for you guys to enjoy. It was a really easy one to make, and tastes even better than it sounds…is that even possible? It took almost no time to make, and it is one of the nicest looking things you will put on your trays, as the pistachios and sprinkled sea salt give it such a glamorous look!

Also on the post today you will find a few gift ideas for the Dog (or dog lover) on your list!!! My girl gets spoiled every year from us and her “aunties and uncles” and let me tell you, she gets the same look as a little kid on Christmas morning!

Enjoy the fudge ya’ll ❤

Christmas Baking Frenzy- Day 3!!

Are you overloaded on sweets yet? I know, silly question right!? You can never have enough goodies this time of year! It seems as though everyday you get another invite to a dinner or cocktail party, at least you’ll be prepared with a tasty tray of sweets.

You have ten days left after today’s post, I hope you are finding some inspiration for your Christmas goodies 🙂

Today’s post is…Peanut Butter Squares! Crunchy goodness, filled with the delicious taste of peanut butter, and topped with a nice hard icing! These are perfect on any tray, and have such a wonderful burst of flavour, best enjoyed with a nice glass of milk! The best part? I guarantee that you have all the ingredients you need already waiting in your pantry…so what are you waiting for?!

Enjoy ❤

Christmas Baking Frenzy- Day 2!!

So, what did ya’ll think of yesterdays Chocolate Crinkle Cookies? If you have already made them I am guessing that you ate about a half a dozen…they are just one of those cookies you can’t put down!

Now, for today’s treat…A delicious Whipped Shortbread! Oh boy are you guys ever in for a treat with these ones! This recipe has been in my family since the 80’s and it is by far the TASTIEST shortbread I have ever tried! And on top of that, it is so easy to make you will be blown away! No chill time, no cutting, no rolling…just make, plop and bake! It makes a ton of cookies, and only uses 5 ingredients! One of the best thins about all 13 days of goodies is that they can be made in advance and put in the freezer until you’re ready to make your cookie trays!

And also on the post, a few gift ideas for the Creative Person on your Christmas list! Enjoy ❤

Christmas Baking Frenzy- Day 1!!

Hey Everyone! Ooooo I hope you are all as excited as I am for the next 13 days of Christmas goodies! We spent over 9 hours on Saturday baking EVERYTHING you will see over the next 13 days (and more!) and although we had a couple of ah-hem…”mishaps”, we managed to create some really beautiful and very very tasty treats for you to share with your loved ones this Christmas season!

Some of the goodies you see will be classic treats, ones that I am sure most of us have tried at least once, and some will be new (or different) for you to add to your family baking days. Please note, some of the recipes have been in my family for over 30 years so I have no way of crediting the “original” source, but where I can, I will!

So, what’s on the baking table for today you ask? One of my all time favourite, and very festive, Chocolate Crinkle Cookies with a twist! Each bite is full of cakey chocolate and a hint of sweet peppermint! Please, enjoy, and remember to let me know if you try to recipe and what you thought! We will talk tomorrow!

Christmas Lantern

One month left until Christmas! I decided this past weekend that I was going to start to decorate (which is actually early for me!) as we have a Christmas party coming up and I really didn’t know when else I would have the time to get the house together!

While going through my decorations I came across some of the mesh tule that is so frequently used in wreaths at this time of year, as well as outdoor decor and knew right away I wanted to use it. Mine was a nice purple, left over from a couple of years ago when I did a Grinch themed tree and needed to make a fun tree skirt! (You can find it in any colour you can imagine).

I decided to do a simple lantern with the mesh and some lights (all things I had already), click the link below for the tutorial to make one for your own home!! Christmas Lantern Tutorial.

Afterall, everyone needs a little more creativity in their lives ❤

Christmas Baking Frenzy

Hey ya’ll!!

There are 43 days until Christmas! Can you believe it? There is no snow on the ground, in fact we are above 5 degrees where I am today, and the stores are now FULL of gift ideas for everyone on your list! I wanted to share with you all that in just a couple of weeks I will be doing my annual Christmas Baking Frenzy with my mom, sister and “second mom” (a great family friend!) and in light of that will be doing my first ever THIRTEEN DAYS OF COOKIES, BARS AND SQUARES to hopefully help get you in the Christmas mood! The picture above is one of our favourite ones, a chocolate crinkle cookie adorned with seasonal chocolate kisses (it will be one of the 13 days!).

Starting November 30 check back everyday for 13 days (a Bakers dozen) to find a new recipe for a delicious treat that we make year after year! They are great for cookie exchanges, teachers gifts, or even just putting yummy trays out for your Christmas guests. Along with each post I will give you a couple of gift ideas for a special someone on your list, and hope that you will share some of your favourite ideas with me as well!

Looking forward to starting this new daily post and inspiring you to change up your Christmas baking!
